The name I was given by my mother is Taylor. The community knows me as Mossy & in spiritual practices, Mātā Luna. I am the spirit of Mossy Moon Traditional Birth Work, serving as a Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Body Wellness Worker and Movement Guide. I received my calling of “With Women” at a very young age - eternally grateful to my dear friend whom brought me to light, who SAW me & called on me as a medicine woman - a woman’s woman, a sacred space holder, a voice of power and a spirit aligned with the birth community. I had never felt more seen, heard - aligned. This work pours off my fingers like warm golden honey. The deepest parts of me, to my bones, are | on fire, moved by spirit | illuminated- every. single. time, this work allows me to surrender in with a woman walking. I have & will continue to fall in love with the traditions, ceremonies and rituals abundant in spiritual practices of Indigenous women around the world - I honor you. I believe that to be IN this work, you must never stop seeking, leaning in, taking chances, immersing, practicing soulful learning & humility.
I am in transition like all beings always, shifting in my birth work offerings as I unfold as a home birth Midwife, deeply rooted in the ancient wisdoms of birth. This medicine, inspired by our ancestors, culturally appropriated, awakening the traditions and ceremonies around this scared birthrite as women, is potent and powerful. I walk with gratitude as a holder and keeper of this space between life and death. To hold this knowledge in my hands to share with those in which I serve. I walk with the medicine women who sink deeply into the rhythms of labor and birth to hold life from womb to earth.
I became as I am in this work in November of 2021 when I left Emergency Pediatric Medicine at a level one Pediatric Trauma Center. However, I started my journey in “medicine “ post college in 2016. I became a nationally certified EMT, volunteer firefighter for a rural firehouse and worked for several private ambulance companies practicing emergency field medicine, as well as for UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s in Cleveland Ohio. Around this time I also complete my Yoga teacher training certification and was trying to figure out how to integrate my lifestyle that was deeply rooted in alternative care and my career in the medical system. I was drawn to both intrinsically. I then after years in emergency medicine, completed my nursing degree, left my bread and butter and found myself in an Integrative Clinic as a Nurse. I still felt the calling for more- My purpose is to walk with women as I tend, mend and care for bodies, minds and spirits. So, I followed this calling, started my own business after certifying as a Doula and here I am pursing Midwifery years later. My purpose is to mother the mother.
Mossy Moon was born with strength and inspiration from the earth, particularly through Green Moss Agate and Moonstone. These stones help me channel energy for new beginnings, confidence, and nurturing support during pregnancy and birth. My birth work isn’t just physical; it’s deeply spiritual. Through prenatal yoga, warm oil massages, belly binding, and intentional postpartum care, I aim to honor each woman’s unique journey.
In these last few years, Mossy Moon has grown from humble beginnings—working out of my car—into a thriving community. My practice integrates ancient wisdom with modern wellness, embracing Ayurvedic perspective. I have found the very balance. I give great admiration and honor to all the women I have been in all my roles to hold me steady in who I am as a practitioner and who I am becoming as a birth keeper, provider and birth worker. My roots run deep.
It’s an honor to lay my hands on a mother, to breathe with her through contractions, to be her advocate when she needs a voice, and to celebrate with her when she finally holds her baby. There’s nothing more sacred than this connection, and I treasure the moments when women trust me to walk alongside them on their journey to motherhood.
As Mossy Moon continues to evolve, I’m excited to deepen my offerings as a forever learner, wisdom seeker and conscious human being. To pour into you, I must pour into me. Outside of birth work I choose to be outdoors in the sun enjoying wooded trails, open space on the snowy mountains, in a honey hole swimming - tending to my home, my family, and Wesson my Dachshund. Traveling is very important to me, and so is mission work. I love to host and create space for people to gather. I love to write, I love practicing yoga with my mom, live music with my dad and being an auntie to my brothers boys.
Thank you for being here - because of you, I am.
I’m deeply grateful for the community of women who surround me. You are my sisters, my spirit guides, my anchors. Every mother I’ve had the privilege of serving has given me more strength and purpose than you could ever know. You remind me of the power in sisterhood, in spirit, and in the act of mothering the mother. Together, we create a beautiful web of support, love, and transformation.
This work has truly made me feel whole. I’m constantly learning, evolving, and growing, and I’m so honored to be on this journey with you all. Motherhood is powerful, sacred, and life-changing, and I’m here to help every woman I work with feel seen, supported, and held.
With gratitude, love, and deep respect, I look forward to continuing this incredible journey with you.
